Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-07-03
Last updated: 2026-07-03

These terms are the deal between you and Hello Tilda, LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("Hello Tilda," "we," "us"). They cover your use of hellotilda.com and everything we run under it (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service — we'd rather lose you than trick you.

We wrote these ourselves, in plain language, because we want you to actually read them. A few parts are unavoidably formal — the law cares about specific words in specific places — but we kept those short and explained them.

1. What Hello Tilda is

Hello Tilda is a personal assistant for people who run a small business. Tilda helps you think things through, keeps your plan in one place, and drafts the work you'd otherwise do yourself.

Here's the technically honest part, stated once and plainly: Tilda's responses are generated by artificial intelligence. We use a third-party AI provider (currently Anthropic's Claude) to generate them. There is no human reviewing responses before you see them. Everywhere else in the product we talk about Tilda like a person, because that's how she works best — but you should know what's under the hood, and this is the document where we tell you.

Tilda is not a professional advisor. She is not a lawyer, an accountant, a tax advisor, a financial advisor, a doctor, or any other licensed professional, and nothing she produces is legal, tax, financial, medical, or other professional advice. No attorney-client, fiduciary, advisory, or other professional relationship is created by using the Service. For decisions that need a licensed professional, hire one.

2. Your account

You need to be an adult running a business. You must be at least 18 years old and using the Service for business or professional purposes. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we find out we have, we'll delete it.

Sign-in is by email. You can use a password or an emailed sign-in link. Keep your sign-in method to yourself — you're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else got in, tell us at support@hellotilda.com right away.

Be honest with us. Give us a real email address you actually check. It's how we reach you about your account, your money, and changes to these terms.

3. Credits and payment

Hello Tilda runs on prepaid credits, not a subscription.

Buying credits. You top up your account through our payment processor, Stripe. Today a top-up is $10 and buys 10,000 credits (1 credit = $0.001). We may change top-up sizes and pricing going forward; changes apply to future purchases, never to credits you already bought.

Using credits. Credits are debited as you use the Service — bigger jobs cost more credits. The credits a job costs cover the AI provider's cost of doing it plus our platform fee (currently 40%) for running the Service. We don't sell your data or run ads, so you pay for what you use, and that fee is what keeps Hello Tilda running. We may change the fee going forward; changes apply to future usage, never retroactively. Every grant and every debit is recorded in a ledger you can see in your account. If your balance runs out, paid features pause until you top up. Credits are a way to pay for the Service; they are not money, they don't earn interest, and you can't transfer or sell them.

Auto-refill. If you turn on auto-refill, we'll automatically charge your saved payment method for a new top-up when your balance runs low, at the amount you chose. You can turn it off anytime in your account settings, and turning it off stops future charges immediately. We will never enable auto-refill for you — it's opt-in only.

Credits don't expire. As long as your account is open, your credits stay good. If you close your account (or ask us to erase your data), any remaining credits are forfeited at closure — see Section 12.

Refunds. Credit purchases are final and non-refundable, with three exceptions: (a) charges you didn't authorize, (b) anywhere the law requires a refund, and (c) when we decide a refund is simply the right thing to do — if something went wrong on our end, write to support@hellotilda.com and make your case; we're small enough to actually read it. Refunds, when given, go back to your original payment method and the corresponding credits are removed.

Taxes. Prices don't include taxes. If we're required to collect sales tax or similar, it'll be added at checkout and shown before you pay.

4. What Tilda makes for you

You own it. The plans, drafts, notes, and other outputs Tilda produces for you are yours — to the extent we hold any right or interest in them, we assign it to you, as long as you're complying with these terms. We claim no ownership of your outputs or of anything you put into the Service. You give us only the permission we need to operate the Service for you — to store your stuff, process it, and show it back to you. We don't use your conversations to train AI models.

One honest caveat about ownership: AI can produce similar or identical outputs for different people asking similar things. You own what Tilda made for you, but we can't promise nobody else will ever receive something that looks like it. Don't rely on Service outputs as something you can exclusively own the way you'd own a logo a designer made only for you.

Tilda can be wrong. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or confidently stated and still wrong. Responses to the same question can differ from one session to the next, and a previous response is not a promise from us. Check anything that matters before you act on it — especially numbers, dates, names, legal or tax questions, and anything you're about to send to a customer, a vendor, or a government office.

You're responsible for how you use it. You make the decisions in your business; Tilda drafts and suggests. Before you rely on anything Tilda produces — especially in regulated areas like law, tax, finance, or health — verify it independently, with a licensed professional where one is called for.

5. Acceptable use

Use the Service to run your business, not to harm people. Don't:

  • break the law, or use the Service to help someone else break it;
  • infringe others' rights — intellectual property, privacy, publicity;
  • generate or spread content meant to deceive people (fraud, phishing, impersonation, fake reviews);
  • harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, or generate content that sexualizes minors (zero tolerance — instant termination and, where appropriate, a report to authorities);
  • probe, overload, or interfere with the Service, try to get around usage metering or rate limits, or access other people's accounts or data;
  • scrape the Service, resell it, or use it to build a competing product;
  • represent Tilda's output as licensed professional advice — yours or anyone's.

If something you want to do feels like it's near a line, ask us first: support@hellotilda.com. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section — see Section 12.

6. Your data

Your data is yours. The full detail lives in our Privacy Policy, which controls on all data questions. The short version, because it's the most important part of the deal:

  • We don't sell your data, rent it, or mine it to advertise at you.
  • You can export your data anytime from your account settings.
  • You can delete your account anytime, and when you do we erase your personal data within 72 hours. What survives erasure: anonymized transaction records (the credit ledger) that we keep because financial books have to stay intact — they no longer point at you.
  • We share data with third parties only when strictly necessary to run the Service for you (for example, Stripe processes your payment; our AI provider processes your conversation to generate Tilda's response), never for their own marketing.

7. Availability

We build for 99.95% availability and take downtime seriously — but we do not currently offer a service-level agreement, and we don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. When we introduce paid service-level commitments, they'll be in writing, in these terms or a linked addendum — not implied. If the Service breaks for you, tell us at support@hellotilda.com and we'll tell you what happened.

8. Disclaimers

Here's the formal part. The capital letters are a legal convention that makes these sections count as "conspicuous" — we're not shouting at you.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR RELIABLE. AI-GENERATED CONTENT MAY BE WRONG EVEN WHEN IT APPEARS AUTHORITATIVE, AND YOU AGREE TO INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY IT BEFORE RELYING ON IT.

Some places don't allow certain warranty disclaimers, so parts of this may not apply to you.

9. Limits on our liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS: (A) WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST DATA, OR LOST GOODWILL — ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR AI-GENERATED CONTENT, EVEN IF WE'VE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE; AND (B) OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

This limit doesn't apply to losses caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or anywhere the law says it can't apply. Losses that come from relying on AI-generated content in your business decisions are consequential damages under clause (A), except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

In plain words: if we mess up, what you can recover is roughly what you paid us, with a $100 floor. That's the standard deal across this industry, and it's what keeps a service like this affordable to run.

10. If someone sues us because of what you did

You agree to defend and indemnify Hello Tilda and its members, employees, and agents against third-party claims (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: your violation of these terms or the law, your violation of someone else's rights, content you submit, or business decisions you made in reliance on AI-generated content. This doesn't apply to claims caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct. We can take over the defense of any such claim at your expense; if we do, you'll cooperate with us and won't settle without our written consent.

11. Content you submit

You promise you have the rights to whatever you put into the Service, and that submitting it doesn't violate anyone else's rights or any law. Don't paste in things you're not allowed to share — other people's confidential information, content under NDA, and so on. If you share privileged material (like attorney communications) with the Service, that may affect its privileged status — talk to your lawyer about what's safe to share with any third-party service.

12. Leaving, and being asked to leave

You can leave anytime. Close your account in settings. Export your data first if you want it — after erasure it's gone. Remaining credits are forfeited when the account closes and are not refunded (except where Section 3's refund exceptions apply).

We can suspend or terminate your account if you materially violate these terms, if the law requires it, or if your use creates real risk for us or other users. Unless it's an emergency (illegal content, security threat, zero-tolerance violations), we'll tell you what the problem is and give you a chance to fix it before we terminate. If we terminate your account without cause — meaning you did nothing wrong and we're discontinuing the Service or your access to it — we'll refund the dollar value of your unused credits. That's the fair version of "credits are non-refundable": it protects us from abuse, not you from us.

Winding down. If we ever shut the Service down entirely, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice, a way to export your data, and a refund of unused credit value.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination do — ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnification, disputes.

13. Governing law and disputes

Washington law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Talk to us first. Before filing anything, email support@hellotilda.com with "Dispute" in the subject and give us 60 days to work it out with you informally. Most problems are misunderstandings or bugs, and we fix those fast.

Then the courts. Disputes we can't resolve informally go to the state or federal courts located in Pierce County, Washington, and both sides consent to jurisdiction and venue there. Either side may instead use small claims court if the claim qualifies. Nothing here stops you from complaining to a government agency (FTC, state attorney general, etc.).

14. Changes to these terms

We'll change these terms as the product grows. When we do:

  • Material changes (pricing mechanics, your rights, dispute terms): we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect, and the new terms apply only after that notice period.
  • Non-material changes (clarifications, typos, new feature descriptions): we'll update the page and the "last updated" date.

If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, that's acceptance. If you don't agree with a change, close your account before the effective date — and if a material change makes you leave, ask us about refunding unused credit value; for changes to the core deal, we'll say yes.

15. The boring-but-necessary bits

  • Entire agreement. These terms plus the Privacy Policy and any linked policies are the whole deal between us about the Service.
  • Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands.
  • No waiver. If we don't enforce something once, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You can't transfer your account or these terms to someone else without our consent. We can assign these terms in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — your rights under them come along unchanged.
  • Export control. Don't use the Service in violation of U.S. export laws or from embargoed countries.
  • SMS terms. If you use text-message features, the Messaging Terms also apply.

16. Contact

Questions, disputes, refund requests, or anything else: support@hellotilda.com. A human-run company reads that inbox.
